Evaluation of in vitro production rates of bovine embryos using melatonin-supplemented culture medium

In this study, we aimed to evaluate the rate of bovine embryo production by using 50 ng/mL melatonin supplementation in vitro culture medium. For this, oocytes from slaughterhouse ovaries were matured TCM-199 medium with Earle’s balanced salt solution + 10% SFB, FSH, and LH an atmosphere 5% CO2. Twenty-four hours after IVM, underwent fertilization human tubal fluid under same conditions as above, for 18 h. Semen was fractionated Percoll gradient centrifugation concentration sperm adjusted 1 × 106/mL. Probable zygotes then divided into two groups: control group grown drops 90 μL SOFaa 0.6% BSA 2.5% CO2, 90% N2, a (Mel), similarly cultured SFB melatonin. Cleavage rates assessed on day 3 (D3). On D7, blastocyst formation evaluated. Eight routines performed (320 per routine). Data analyzed ANOVA, followed Tukey’s range test general linear model. The level statistical significance set at 5%. There no differences cleavage or between groups (P > 0.05). Thus, used did not yield benefits increasing production.
